I have a spare 10 gallon tank that is just sitting in the garage. It seems like such a waste. I’m currently deciding what to do with it. Here are some of my options.

Nerite Snail Breeding. These little critters are prized among aquarium keepers as algae eating machines. They are highly adaptable, able to live in salt water, brackish water, and fresh water. Their eggs, however, are only viable in brackish or salt water. I would get some snails, acclimate them back to brackish and try to breed them. Then I would have to get a second tank for acclimating them back to fresh water for sharing with others.

Ceslestial Pearl Danio Breeding. These little critters are a hot commodity in the fish keeping industry right now. These are gorgeous little fish with brilliant colors. I definitely wouldn’t mind keeping a few of these fish. I would definitely try to breed these as they are hard to come by at a decent price in a lot of places. I’d like to share the wealth.

Betta. Although this is very unoriginal, Bettas are great looking fish. There is something so majestic about their bright colors and long, flowing fins. I would probably go with a Crowntail Betta, rescue one from one of those pitiful containers, where PetCo and PetSmart keep them.

Decision making is always tough for me, and they’re even tough when it comes to this hobby. Stay tuned for the answer.
